Ramanshu Mishra
The composer who believes, “Struggle is a harsh word, because it is a journey which has just started for me”, is mesmerising everyone with his singing and compositions.
“Hailing from Dhanbad, I wasn’t much aware about other things apart from studies. College helped me realize the possibilities in the music industry and I explored my passion and kept learning. To grow in life, passion isn’t what is important, it’s the dedication to keep learning which drives you forward. Fast forward to my 3rd year, when I had to take a life decision, my elder brother asked me a simple question — What would you love to do?…and at that instant I knew I wanted to pursue music. I was inspired by the people who started TVF, which gave me the confidence that IITians can also succeed in the entertainment industry. Decisions keep changing based on situations in life, but I don’t want to have any regrets so I made a choice based on my present.
Till now, I was already learning music, but I felt the need to focus on my recordings. So I found myself a teacher for music production, for which I travelled to Delhi every weekend for the classes. I decided to travel to Mumbai, network with people and understand the scenario of the music industry there. I started working in music soon before college ended. Reminiscing about my college days, I would say I have made wonderful friends and memories, and also that’s where I learnt music. Then I shifted to Mumbai, and gained interest in background score composition. As a composer, I had to understand the scripts, time my music based on the dialogues, the mood, the situation and I really find it to be very interesting. Currently, my main focus is on composing, singing my heart out and obviously, learning.” — Ramanshu Mishra

He still believes he knows very less about music and wishes to keep learning throughout his life. In August, 2020, he composed the background score for the film “Parchaiyaan” which was released on MX Player. He looks forward to more such laurels in the entertainment industry.
