“My passion for dance bloomed right in my childhood when a new CD player arrived at my home. I got hooked to the tunes of Kaho Na Pyaar hai and while grooving to Hritik Roshan’s famous step, I realised my love for dancing. My mom put me in Kathakali dance classes and being the only guy there, it was a sweet-sour experience XD. Soon, I was performing in stage shows, school functions, and at my dad’s office too. However, it was only when I met my dance teacher and trained under him that I started taking dancing seriously. We auditioned for the ‘DID Lil’ Champs’ in the Baroda auditions but after clearing a few initial rounds, I was rejected. With a greater zeal, we went all the way to Mumbai for the DID auditions. After several days of back-to-back auditions, I finally got to perform in front of celebrity judges. Being thrilled at the prospect of coming on TV, I actually flunked my performance. I was disheartened and started crying knowing that I had lost the chance. I recall the cameraman asking me: Beta please say ‘Main next year fir aaunga’.
I wanted to pursue dancing as a career, but having ‘the talk’ with my parents convinced me otherwise, and I set out to crack JEE.
Finally, I got into IITR, it was time to get my dancing shoes back on. I wanted to pursue my passion and the Choreo Section gave me the perfect runway for my flight to take off. ‘Shape Of You’, which started as a college music video, catapulted into an overnight success with 15M+ views on youtube. We started getting a lot of female attention (something very new for me) and even got offers from dance studios. This was our very own dose of sweet, sweet stardom! But it was not just about that one video, it was a journey of 4 years, all the late-night practices, stage shows, Inter IITs; which polished the dancer in me.
My motto is ‘Dil se karo, toh cheez ki fatt-ti hai’. However hard one may try to stay away, his passion ultimately calls him. College is all about exploring, not just your career but also your interests.” — Meet Saparia

He recently quit his job to open a startup with his friend @wideeyed_raja . His last dance workshop @waveofpassion was a huge hit.
