“Dance has always held a special place in my life. However, there was a long break in my dance journey during my college days. Yes, strangely enough, I was not a part of the Choreo Section in IITR but that didn’t deter my interest in dance. In college, I used to enjoy dancing at parties and chapos.
During my job, I wanted to invest time in my hobby; therefore, I joined dance classes there. Although they were very far from my place it never felt like a burden and I loved taking time out for them. I’ve had 4 years of training in Rajasthani folk dance when I was in school, and also learned other dance styles in Bangalore.
I dedicated this page to dance in November 2019 and there has been no looking back since. With the onset of the pandemic, it has been a game-changer for content creators. From a person who had no intention of starting this page, it is overwhelming to see the appreciation of people.
It has been quite a journey, from initially shooting my videos at a multi-purpose space in my office, to shooting in my home in front of a bedsheet as background and now shooting in real locations. And all this has been possible only because of my friends, they were the ones who motivated me to dedicate a page on dance and have always been encouraging. Even my parents have been very supportive. We used to travel to locations at 6 in the morning for shooting.
I feel that without IITR, I couldn’t have thought of being where I am right now. It has given me such amazing friends who always push me to do my best and it has taught me how to manage time. It’s the main reason that I don’t intend to quit my job and pursue both side-by-side.
I feel that rekindling my relationship with dance has been one of the best decisions of my life and am extremely thankful for the journey that has been.”- Aakanksha Doda.

She has been featured on many prominent dance pages and has also danced with well-known choreographers such as Melvin Louis, Arunima Dey, and Pooja Sharma. She takes inspiration from many choreographers who manage their jobs along with dance.
